Where Is It From ... Serpentine Meaning
Serpentine Stones are found in a large number of places including Australia, Britain, Russia, Norway, Italy, Zimbabwe, South Africa, Brazil and the USA.

The meaning of the name of this crystal, comes from the Greek word 'serpens', meaning snake, because of the way that many pieces of this stone have a similarity to the appearance of snakeskin.

It was highly valued by the Aztec civilisation. It is a fairly common stone, and although it is predominantly in shades of green from fairly light green to darker green, it may include greenish-black, red, brownish-red, brownish-yellow, yellow and white colors.

The color of these rocks may depend on where it comes from. A specific variety found in Arizona in the USA is also known as Arizona lizard stone.

Why Would You Use Serpentine Stone

The name of this stone gives you a clue as to what one of its most potent effects may be. This stone is said to be one of the safest stones that you might choose to aid you, if you want to activate the Kundalini.

The kundalini energy, or Serpent Power, is purported to reside at the base of the spine, wrapped three and a half times around the sacrum, until roused. As part of the process to raise your kundalini energy, Serpentine Stone is known to be an extremely potent and effective stone to use.

If you awaken your kundalini, you may experience a wide range of different effects. The intensity of this experience often stimulates sexual feelings as it opens new areas to create 'enlightenment'.

The energy of the kundalini moves up the spine, from the base chakra until it emerges at the crown chakra. Many people have reported extraordinary experiences when this happens and it may feels very much like a hot flame as it makes its makes it's way up.

Kundalini Activation
Before attempting to do this, it is wise to read all the information available on the process.

Note that there may be side effects if you force the process to happen when you are not really ready for its effects.

Kundalini activation is associated with 'enlightenment', and this whole process has been written about in depth in many books.

If you have a strong interest in this, you might like to read more widely on this subject, as there is a lot more to this than is outlined here.

The kundalini awakening experience revolves around the Kundalini serpent moving up from the base of the spine through the center of the spine.

It comes all the way up to the crown chakra where it emerges, like an enormous snake hovering over your head.

On its way up the spine it will open the channel, and clear each chakra as it goes, until it reaches the pinnacle at the crown.

This process may occur spontaneously in some individuals, but in many others it is the result of specific processes.

The use of Serpentine Stone as part of this activation, is useful as it will alleviate some of the possible discomfort it is possible to feel.

This is because using this stone will allows you to clear the chakras as the movement.

Although the color of this stone varies, many of the pieces are quite lovely, and they make beautiful jewelry.

If you do intend to use it for kundalini activation, it is good idea to begin by wearing it so that you can adjust to its unique energy gradually, before using it in a body layout.

Serpentine stone is easy to buy, and you can place a piece of the stone in your pocket, or put one under your pillow so that you adapt to its vibration.

As it is a fairly common stone, you should be able to obtain Serpentine jewelry, but if not, get yourself a piece of the stone.

Although it is known for its kundalini awakening, other Serpentine properties make it a very useful stone.

It is a strong heart chakra stone, and it resonates with the Devic realm.

HELPFUL INFORMATION

What is a Mala? A Mala is a string of beads used to count mantras (Sanskrit prayers) in sets of 108 repetitions.

What is Mantra? A mantra is a word or series of words chanted aloud or silently to invoke spiritual qualities. Chanting is used as a spiritual tool in virtually every cultural and religious tradition. In the yogic tradition a mantra is a Sanskrit word that has special powers to transform consciousness, promote healing or fulfill desires. The practice of chanting a mantra is used as a form of meditation. Sitting in a comfortable position, with the eyes closed, the mantra is repeated silently or aloud. The mind is focused on the mantra, the thoughts are let go of and the breath is slow and deep.

What is Japa? Malas are used for keeping count while reciting, chanting, or mentally repeating a mantra or the name or names of a deity. This practice is known in Sanskrit as Japa.

A Japa Mala or Prayer Mala or Meditation Mala (meaning garland) is a set of beads commonly used by Hindus and Buddhists, usually made from 108 beads, though other numbers, usually divisible by 9, are also used. When Mantras are repeated on beads of Mala, it is called Japa and the mala is called Japa Mala. Malas are typically made with 19, 21, 27, 54 or 108 beads. In Tibetan Buddhism, traditionally Malas of 108 beads are used. Some practitioners use Malas of 21 or 28 beads for doing prostrations. Doing one 108-bead Mala counts as 100 mantra recitations, the extra repetitions done to amend any mistakes in pronunciation or other faults of recitation. Malas are mainly used to count mantras. These mantras can be recited for different purposes linked to working with mind. The material used to make the beads can vary according to the purpose of the mantras used. Some beads can be used for all purposes and all kinds of mantras. The distinctive Japa or Meditation Mala consists of 108 individually knotted beads. A single guru bead is attached to the threaded tassel. Prayer beads are an indispensable tool for meditation. Each bead is used to count the repetition of a mantra or chant. The number 108 bears spiritual significance across several religions. When a mantra is repeated 108 times, the person meditating is connecting with the spirit of the universe, paying respects in deep humility to that which pervades all life. A personal Mala is a wonderful accessory to meditation, which when used regularly with a personal mantra, absorbs the vibrations of the practice. It becomes like a close friend or a comfortable piece of clothing. The Japa or Meditation or Prayer Mala, when worn also acts as a talisman and maintains a positive flow of energy throughout the body. Moreover, now a days bead therapy is very common and many people have been benefited by this.

To Empower the Mala and the Mantra used, Japa (mantra meditation) should be practiced each day for 40 continuous days. When the Mala becomes empowered, it can be worn or lightly placed on oneself or others to transmit the energy of the Mantra as well as the energetic qualities of the Mala. When you use a new Mantra with a Mala, this energy becomes replaced, so it is recommended to use a new Mala with each mantra if possible.

When not in use, store your Mala in a special, clean and preferably sacred space. The best place to store a Mala is on a personal alter or statue of a deity.

How to Use a Mala? Hold your Mala in your right hand and use your thumb to “count” each mantra by touching the bead during the recitation and then lightly pushing the bead away on completion and moving to the next bead. The index finger is extended and should not touch the mala. The large meru (mountain) bead should not be counted or touched by the thumb and is used as a starting and ending point of the recitation. If you have a wrist mala of 27 beads you will need to repeat this 3 more times. Continue by pulling the beads and going backwards until you again end at the meru and continue until you have done 108 repetitions, or multiples of 108.

It is not necessary that Mala can only be used for Meditation. It can also be worn as a Necklace to Attract Positive Vibes (all Malas) and bring Medical Benefits (in some cases like AGATE, Turmeric or Haldi mala).

Additional

ALWAYS AVOID YOUR MALA GETTING WET OR CONTACTING WATER AS THAT MAKES THE STRING WEEK.

Your mala is a precious part of your life. When we make each mala, we hope our buyers will use it lifelong. Mala making requires patience, as does the maintenance of your mala. Any vigorous exercise (with your mala) or bathing/swimming may cause damage to it.

We make our malas and bracelets keeping in mind your need for positivity energy. Although your mala absorbs negative energy, you must clean your mala regularly to ensure that the mala does not become saturated with negativity and reflect it back to you. Leaving your mala in natural sunlight for a few hours could do the trick for removing negativity.

Malas strung on a natural silk thread are delicate and we urge our buyers to avoid frequent stretching. Too much stretching may damage your mala.

Often my buyers ask why they their malas or bracelets have slight discolorations or differences from the pictures shown. This is due to each gemstone’s natural originality and uniqueness. Each stone is slightly different from the other, which is why your mala is special from the same one another buyer may receive.
